~ Who are Leon Belmont and Mathias Cronqvist?

Both are characters from the game "CastleVania: Lament of Innocence", by Konami. This game was released on 2003 for the Sony's Play Station 2 console.

Mathias Cronqvist:
Although he doesn't appear to be an enemy for the out set, just listening to the intro should clue you in that something is fishy. He used to be a Master Tactician and friend of Leon, until his wife Elisabetha fell ill and died. Angry at life, he fell ill. Just when Leon's love was kidnapped, Mathias just happened to know where Sara was taken. As it turns out, Mathias turned to the dark side and merely used Leon to kill Walter so he could steal his Ebony Stone.
He dissapears at the end, and becomes Lord of the Night, King of all vampires. Later he changes his name to Vlad Tepes and becomes that one we all know as Dracula.

Leon Belmont:
Leon Belmont was a noble knight in 11th century Europe up to the events of Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. He lost both parents at a very young age, and was knighted at the age of 16. When his love interest Sara Trantoul is whisked away by the vampire Walter Bernhard he enters the castle grounds unarmed, but is given a whip that is blessed with the power of alchemy by the old man Rinaldo Gandolfi, who lives on the grounds. Using the whip and his magic gauntlet, he enters the castle hoping to rescue his fiancée.

~ Why "Cursed fate"? and Why them?

"Cursed fate" just because they were, since the begining very good friends, but, ufortunately, their fate suddenly changed, and at the end, due to circumstances, they ended being enemies forever.
Why them? Because I loved those two since the very first time I saw the coming of this game. Their long old friendship, and how sad it was when everything changed, and they had to be enemies.
And I, personally, think they look cute togheter XD
